" Son Of A Preacher Man " by Janis Joplin
Did she really record the song? I don't believe she did. There are many references to her as the artist, but the voice isn't Janis, it's Dusty Springfield.
Do you know of an online version of Janis' cover? I'd like to hear it.

By no means was I "calling you out"! Hope that wasn't how I came across! I just happen to be very into music and thought I had missed Joplin's version/cover all these years. And I am very interested to hear it, started searching around after reading your post and heard only Dusty; even those that referenced Joplin as the artist. So it confused me a bit, and I thought you might have a copy of Joplin's version since you posted it.
With respect to cluttering the thread, it's an off-off-topic thread... that is seemingly endless... that an injection of discussion wouldn't hurt, in my opinion. Especially when/if there's something to be gained.
Anyway, sorry for any confusion!
BTW, name's Jeff

"Life is a Highway", by The Rascal Flatts (better cover IMO than Tom Cochrane)

By all means, clutter away on this thread, within reason. It keeps things interesting. And it's probably more interesting than CL8 and I arguing politics or religion :)
