First off, I am not into racing, or tuning, or rallying, etc. I'm looking at buying a 93 Impreza AWD sedan. The ad goes like this:

"1993 impreza AWD for sale .sedan, with 1.8eng, auto trans. works excellent, needs small body work around rockers and rear wheels. great on gas . 333xxxkms. bought new car. Make an offer! can be seen on demand."

and pictures:

What do you think? What are these cars like to drive? Are they reliable? Do they have any unusual or interesting quirks? The person is asking 1200 OBO. How much should I offer?

Yeah, I have a car like this but it's 2 years newer. Very reliable; great handling, and great in the snow.

Well, I've been trying to tune this car up; I know you're not interested; it's a great tuner.:grinyes:

just dont be too hard on the motor. subarus from that era tended to develop some rod knock if they got beat on too hard. also ive heard of some valvetrain issues associated with hard driving. you should be able to find info with a simple search. since you seem like you wont drive it too hard, they are mainly things to look for when you test drive it. just like any car with that mileage, keep up regular oil changes.
