i picked up my cupholder from Target about 3yrs ago, it was called the octopus, it had a rubber bottom and like these self adjusting arms to hold anything from a mug, to a double big gulp, and in my crx, just after the ebrake was this flat unused area, and to my surprise it fit right in there, and never tipped over.

i got it for 4.99

I picked up a cup holder for my plymouth that can hold a full 2 liter... on either side! it ran me $8, I got it at autozone, but this thing is so huge the only place that it could even be mounted in a civic is in the pass. side floorboard.

Don't know if your cars have an available DIN slot. My 94 Infiniti G20 had an available DIN slot with a dumb cubby in it, and no cupholders whatsoever, so I bought a std. DIN cupholder/change holder unit off eBay. It fit with a modification to the mounting bracket. Doesn't hold big cups, but it holds soda cans, and the change holder part is excellent.
Here's the Taurus/Saab unit I mounted in my G20 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2404881469&category=33695)
Here's the aforementioned Octopus unit, I ran across it while searching for the other one. :) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2913529648&category=1467)

If you don't like that unit, try going to junkyards and looking for a good DIN unit that'll fit. Shouldn't run more than $15-20.

Of course that's assuming that there's a free DIN slot...my Sentra had one and so does my G, but I don't know about all y'alls Civics. :bloated:

I usually buy bottled drinks so i stuff them between my seatbelt (where it clips in) and my side. Another trick is between the hand brake and the seat bottom!;)

When I pulled my seats the other day I found a half-empty pepsi I did that too and forgot, it must have slipped between the seat and center when I got out of the car.

I have a slot in my CRX dash I may try to mod one of those combo cup holders into, I know a taurus that has one, it just never occoured to me to snag it.

when I had my paper routes (yeah, two of them... still wasn't gettin paid squat) I had my grandfather snag some sanitary tubing from the plant he works at and we made me a long straw so I didn't have to worry about the hot days... I need to dig it out and have somebody take a pic of me using it... it was one of those jokes that turned out to be a great idea.

oh, and that's what I used with the 2-liter's in my cup holders in the plymouth
