Steering binds when turning left.

I have an '01 Grand Caravan Sport that suddenly displayed a 'locked' or binding steering while attempting to turn LEFT when the engine was cold. The problem never appears after the engine reaches full operating temperature. The vehicle had @ 62,000 miles when this was first noticed and I recently drove an '02 which displayed the exact same condition. I spoke to a Chrysler dealer and they claimed to not have seen this problem nor did they have any service bulletins covering it. My guess is that it's a valving issue in the steering rack but I'm not about to replace the rack on a guess. Has anyone out there expericed this and, if so, what was the solution? Thanks in advance.

Never had the problem but that sounds like a bad pressure relief valve within the rack itself.
