Supra Engine into Celica??

Hmmmm... this came into my thought, can a Supra TT engine go into a 2002 Celica engine, and is it possible, n e ways wuts the Supra and Celica Engine called??

the 2jz gte supra motor is for rwd cars and wouldn't fit into a celica unless you converted it to rwd.

a supra engine wouldnt fit into a celica's engine bay anyways, i know mine is cramped as hell.

the new celica engines are the 1zz for the GT and the 2zz for the GTS

Yet gentlemen, you CAN make it fit. Not saying this is easy but you CAN do anything. The drivetrain difference will be your biggest problem when trying to swap a FR engine w/a FF engine.

b/n the different sizes of the two motors, have fun fitting the hood down over the 2jz if you go rwd.
it could be done, but it would not be easy, like the www.kugelkomponents.com kit for the 5.0 focus rwd conversion.

it would be a huge pain in the ass.

Yeah....this would all be hard.....but get somone who knows what they're doing and there you go.....

Man i have a celica and i want to put a 2jz in my car i asked toyosports about it because they done it before with older model rwd celica they say its impossible.. my hopes are dimensing but i still have little faith that i will find someone or someone will find me who done this befor

It could be done but it would be cheaper to buy a Supra. I am not too familiar with the Celica's layout but my best friends father stuck a 383 small block Chevy into his CRX. He had to move the seats way back, had to do extensive fabrication to his entire steering system, cut out the middle of the floor, then weld a new floorpan with room for the transmission and driveshaft, had to cut the back to make some room for some tubs to fit slicks, fabricate mounts for a custom Ford 9" differential, and I am sure I missed many things. He spent close to $70,000 over a period of 6 years building it and did all the work himself with the help of some friends. Then when he sold it he could only get about $20,000 for it. In other words unless you hit it big in Vegas or the stock market it wouldn't be worth it. At the strip it only ran low 12's because he couldn't get traction, and the few times he did the wheels would lift off the ground and the car would try and go into the next lane. The car was banned from the track after he almost took out an old Chevelle so he decided to just sell it. Anyway sorry this is so long but it is just an experience I thought I would share about putting a RWD engine into a FWD car. IMHO, not worth it.

Why dont you go to Jarcoinc.com, order a front and rear clip of a 94-99 Celica GT4 and do a complete gt4 conversion. it would be way cheaper and everything would actually fit. after that conversion, with the engine being stock, you will run low 14's, get a boost controller set at 15psi, down pipe, exhaust, and some sort of intake and you will run very low 13's, possibly 12's depending on how you drive. actually, water injection wouldnt be a bad idea either, give you a little play room with the boost:D
