I have a 2001 Camaro V6 3.8 Liter, I had my system scanned because my check engine light was on, and it said Maf or Vaf circuit low input.. i just replaced the MAF sensor, spak plugs and wires. well the light is still on and my car feels like its misfiring but i just had a KOEO test done and it said all cylinders were firing. well my car is running like crap. CAN ANYONE GIMMIE SOME IDEAS???
THANKS

Could be a corroded connector somewhere in the circuit(s). Remeber, the code identifies the circuit, not the part.

Unplug the MAF sensor and drive it and see how it reacts, also try tapping on it and see if it reacts to that, you might have a bad new part it happens.

if it was running good before, go back and check your work. It's easy to get the wires routed incorrectly.
BTW, what do you mean you had a koeo test done and it says all the cylinders were firing?
You said the light was still on ... same code? You did clear it I'm assuming and it came back on, right?
You could put the old MAF back on. It ran good with that one on. If it runs bad, then you probably got the wires routed wrong. I've been a tech for 20 years and it still happens to me every once in awhile.

ya man i hope you did clear the codes after replacing the part. can be done simply by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds then reconnecting

yes i cleared the codes, no it wasnt running good b 4 i changed the MAF sensor. thats the whole reason y i did change it. i have the sensor unplugged rate now i tryed that test to but still runs like shit. koeo test- Key On Engine Running test with a Diagnostics tool. how do i check the terminals with a volt ohm meter?? and how do i test the fuses? i dont know what scale it has to b on.

That MAF, VAF circuit low input code can be 3 things. The MAF, the ECM, or the wiring in between.

where is the ECm located?

how can i check the ecm to see if its bad or not? and where is it located?

the computer should be on the passenger side of the engine compartment toward the rear.
As far as testing it, I don't know that there is a specific test that can be done. It's more a case of narrowing it down and the computer is the last component to narrow it down to.
I would go through the trouble tree for the code you are getting. Usually the last step in a trouble tree will be replace the computer.

well imfinally gettin power to it. but i am still getting the maf circuit low input code. what is the voltage readings on the red black and yellow wires suppose to be? i am gettin 12.3 red 12.3 black and like 1. somthin for the yellow is that right? the wired arent crowded or n ething they seem to b fine.

From the diagram I have the three wires to the MAF sensor are Pink, Black&White and Yellow. The pink is ignition feed and 12 v. is probably close. The black and white is ground and should be 0v. or very, very close. The Yellow is the signal out to the PCM and will be read as a frequency rather than a voltage. If your black wire is black& white and has 12 v. then you have found your problem. This must be grounded for the sensor to function properly. Where are you taking these voltage readings? By backprobing the connector at the sensor? Good Luck with your repair.:)

to make sure i am checking it right...what setting on the volhometer is it suppose to b i know on the dc scale and wheredo i put the leads? i had the red led on the wire and the black lead on the cars main ground. is that right if not plz tell me how???
thanks
thanks

DC Scale is correct. And the main ground should do it. I always use the battery negative terminal as a ground reference. That is the true ground for the system, so I measure voltage from there.
