Gamers thread...

Well, from inspiration from Matty's thread, I decided to make a thread for people on here who are gamers (Xbox 360, PS3, etc.).

I know not everyone is, or does play online or with friends, but I am a video game geek and I rather enjoy gaming. I spend the majority of my time Play Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4. At some points I throw down on Gears of War. I'm a huge 1st person shooter. Love em.

The main idea of this thread I guess is to see if anyone would like to play with other fellow AFer's. So, if you would or want, just leave your gamertag here for all to see.

I have 360 but not online yet, I am online on Counterstike on the PC tho, you can find me under GForce957. I have Source but I dont play it much.

I've never been a huge online gamer. I only seem to pick up a game and want to play it online AFTER it's been popular.

Such as my resent attempt at online gaming mastery. Battlefield 2. It's been out since 2005. It's 2008. I just bought it a few weeks back. Needless to say, I'm behind the curve when it comes to skill involvded needed to be Uber sweet.

.... I guess I just assume the good players would of left on to better greater games that aren't three years old. No, what I always seem to stumble into is a world full of monsterously good players who can seemly pick you off from worlds away.

Useless, they just keep on trucking while I scream "WHY WON'T YOU DIE!" after unloading crates of ammunition into a fiendishly evil 12 year old child from Niggeria who just knife killed me in a gun battle.

I always seem to end my games with this thought... "Yeah, well if we were on AF I'd of banned you already... so there!"

I dont have a 360 I'm playing the Wii and patiently waiting on smash brothers so I can kick some japanese ass in it, lol. I also play alot of ps2 games and i play world of warcraft alot.

Well, I love games. I play them a lot. My wife and I have been really into Gran Turismo 4. Now with the format war over I have to buy a Blue Ray Player for my shop, and sice the PS3 is the cheapist, I'll be getting one of those and playing a lot of GT5. Other then that I'm into first person shooters, mostly Unreal Tournament but I have been dabbeling in counter strike and hidden latley. Trying to get through halflife 2 right now. My wife dosn't like it because of it's realism. But she'll play UT with me. She loves playing UT with Poly and me whenever we visit.

The only next gen system I have is a Wii. Love it. Waiting for the next mario cart to come out. Smash brothers will be a blast! OH and definetly going to buy Ghost Busters!

To be honest, I do have a second account which I haven't gotten onto in a while. I figured it died out in early February because I didn't renew it, turns out I did and it's still active...lol.

I play COD 4 with all my native pals too. There's a good 8 or 9 of us that play online. Our clan is AKWS (Akwesasne) our reservation. Haven't lost an online clan match yet with those guys. :smooch:

I'm big on clans and stuff too. Would hope to make it to a MLG (Major League Gaming) tourney someday for Halo or something. Hell, even just to watch. Can make some good cash if your team is good enough.

This is going to be a bastard making the switch from the PS3 remote to the 360 lol. I first started playing COD4 on 360 and when I started playing it on PS3, the switch over was very hard for me lol. Don't be surprised if I throw a grenade when I am in fact trying to shoot haha.

LOL! Had the same problem playing with a cousin of mine. Diehard PS3 fan, and all we ever do is play COD4 at his place. Took me a while to catch on, and he was flat out owning my ass until 20 minutes later when I started to get my swagger on. BTW, he's in his 6 or 7th Prestige. As for me, I'm just a 53 in the first trial. Can't say things went the same for him when we switched to the 360...:icon16:

So for those of you who play COD4, what is your kill to death ratio? Mine is currently 1.37, however, I play on my account about 80% of the time, the rest is people who come over to visit and play it. Which, does bring it down some.

Well, I don't know how it happend, but some Asian clan (or so I would assume) has managed to cheat online in COD4. It was the players Nu-Chi, Fu-Chi__Ryan, FOXYeleven (or something like that), and some other crazy name. I heard some of my teamates say that they weren't able to kill the fuckers. So I finally came across one of them and shot him in the back from about 5 feet away with a M16 and he didn't die! He turned around and killed me! I was like WTF!? On shot, two MAX from that far away and in the back with a M16 is death. So I encountered some other players in the clan. Did the same thing, I would sneak up on them and shoot them countless times as they would take their sweet ass time turning around, and then kill me. So I busted out the semi-auto shotgun and started getting some kills on them. However, I found that it took me a bare minimum of two shots to the upper body or head with the shotgun from close distance to kill them. Generally it was 3 or 4. I finally got fed up with going 14 and 20 that I left the game room. Everyone on my team (all people I don't know except for one of them) was furious. They weren't even all that good, but they were next to impossible to kill. And for those of you about to question whether or not they had Juggernaut on, that was not it. I have played with that myself and have played agianst people who have had it. This was like Juggernaut x 8. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Edit: I just did a Google search and found out that some people use a lag switch. (If anyone on here has done that you are weaksauce, if you want to shoot a still object, go stand in front of a building). I am not sure if this is what they were doing, but when I unload a M16 clip into someone's back from 5 feet away and they don't die, something is up. I maybe get less kills than deaths 1 our of every 10 games (though sometimes it can be more if I'm on an off-day lol), and everyone of those games I got destroyed. And like I said, they weren't even all that good.

I have no idea what any of that means. All I know is that once I get unlazy and get Xbox live, I'll own all you bastards in Ace Combat...

I have no Internet gaming capabilities until the galant is running ( I grounded myself) I will come back for vegas when it comes out and to kick cassies ass at ace combat.

I have experienced similar issues on COD4 with level 10 prestige guys who you know cheated the entire rank. People without decent ping times should be kicked off until they can get those times down.

My only beef really is latency. For example: you find an opponent running by you, shoot him in the back several times, but his teammate shoots you while standing next to you. As you watch the death replay, it shows you only shot one bullet or didn't shoot at all. But you know damn well you unloaded a clip, and didn't get jack shit for the effort. Those are my only issues.

just about everyone I know online (lots of higher level guys) call the M16 a "noob weapon" Granted tehy aren't above using it if it is used on them, but tehre seems to be a fair amount of lag associated with the 3 shot burst as opposed to others.

And I definitly don't like the LAG compensation system they are using like in HALO3 They are just trying to even the playing field so the right people get the right kills, and it is annoying. Stupid nonsense.

EXACTLY! There are times when I have fired off to bursts and when it shows the deathcam it shows me barely even getting off part of one burst. I guess all the "pros" can call the M16 a noob weapon, I don't see why. Maybe because it's not the ALMIGHTY P90. :rolleyes: They can say what they want, but most people who are a higher "rank" (AKA more time on COD4, not by any means better) can tell me that when they are laying on the ground trying their last stand after being shot down with the M16.

Which is funny, because, according to a close friend of mine in the 20th SFG, those are two concepts that should never be used in conjunction.

... I don't know who you think I play with, but I can assure you, "bitch moves" are not employed. We kill straight up with whatever gun isn't a M16 or P90. More often than not it's a Kalashnikov rifle (of sorts), any other assault rifle, Sniper (of sorts), sometimes a shotgun. We don't use last stand, rarely use martyrdom, absolutely no Juggernaut. They aren't pro's either, just bored old men. People that can affect the outcome of the game after they've already DIED piss me off, IE martyrdom, Last stand, and Juggernaut. Come to think of it, if you guys played with me, you wouldn't talk to me anymore. i'm kinda mean.

I don't really care what weapons people use, so long as they actually work with their teamates and try to complete the goals of whatever style game they are playing.

My favorite setup is an M4, noob tube, stopping power and marty (because I play a lot of HQ)

Cheaters are exactly why I really only play at LAN parties anymore. Last time I had latency problems I had a 56.6k modem but I could compensate so it was only a mild annoyance.

BTW, I'd take an AR-15 if there were a game that used it.

Well since it's a gamers thread I'll speak my stats, although since they arent COD4 they might not compare

Longest Winning Streak = 33
Accuracy 28.18%

Would be better but I had to re do the computer in early February, so I lost all my good stats, still pretty good tho. I think my favorite that I had saved from December-January was a 112-23 score in 30min on the main map I frequent.

With an accuracy rating like that, you most likely will miss me. I've got a 78.12% chance of not being hit by your shots.

Bingo, due to the fact that a lot of nubs run around with Juggernaut on, the likelyness of me killing people has been pretty slim. But that doesn't mean I won't hit you running by, and you having that chance to scamper off. Most who don't have juggernaut, are usually met with a pretty quick death if I encounter them.

I have quite a few friends on my list who play COD4. I sit at the top being the most accurate. I'm proud of that. And yes, the M16 is like a long range shot gun. To boast and brag a bit, I've developed my skills enough to turn my use of the M16 to be a sniping, shotgunnin', assault rifle. :icon16:

The one friend I do have on my list who has gone through all Prestige Modes, advises me to stick with the M16. He still uses it, and will always continue using it.

In his words: "burst for burst, bullet for bullet; it's the best weapon to use."

And, FYI, the accuracy reads how often I hit and kill someone out in battle. Doesn't keep track of how often I hit someone. I do seem to have a lot of assists, though. The stats don't record those. Mostly because people can heal, then come back to fight.

Maybe Matty should get himself a copy of COD and test his luck? :biggrin:

not great ratios, but you have to understand, I am an objective player, and sometimes its easier to prevent someone from heading my direction by shooting in a direction to save those last couple seconds getting the headquarters.

Of course on the 18th, i'm getting Rainbow 6: Las Vegas 2, and throwing this game on the shelf indefinitely.

Army of Two is awesome. Controll set up takes a few to get used to, but once you do, and you figure out the mix of spray and pray tactics with strategic movement, its sweet.

I played Army of Two with my little bro for a few hours and it was cool for a bit, but then quickly grew repetitive and a bit boring (constant bullet tracers along very, very slow moving bullets were very lame as well). Overall it didn't hold up to any of the media hype...that's my oppinion at least. There were however a few cool teamwork features in the game that I'd like to see in some upcoming FPS's.

Man, that's a badass place... I used it last night and everyone thought i was glitching.. I'd never seen anyone up there. It's kind of hard to get up there in regular games, but in old school mode its a cinch.

my gamertag is turbozetec. Most of the time I play a couple games later at night but thats about it.

Favorite setups are either
M16, red dot, digital camo, UAV jammer and martyrdom, m1911 and 2frags/stun
or
Skorpian, silencer, double tap and last stand with a silenced m1911
