:banghead: i have an 88 half ton chevy with the 305.... the tranny took a dump on me about a week ago... im wondering... being the fact that its a small block chevy, i know the th400 will work.. but will the fact that its an 88 become a problem... im pretty sure that the drive shaft is all i have to worry about.. but i dont know.. so someone help me...

Which transmissioin is in it now? If a TH350, the driveshaft will need to be shortened and the slip yoke replaced with the correct one. If TH700-R4, it should just need the right slip yoke. The length should be correct.

You will also need the electric switch for the "kick down".

I'm not one for making extra work for myself, so why not get a salvage yard unit or have yours rebuilt?
