1989 ranger 4x4

I have a 89 ranger 4x4 the lights for the 4x4 switch dont come on when you push the buttons what is the problem

check for power at the switch. If you have power then it is the engage motor for the transfer case. This is a common problem on these trucks. Go to ebay, new ones for 60-70 bucks. Located on back of transfer case. When changing be sure to reseal the motor on the case.
