I think you cut off the 2 smallest to rings.

umm... none? get the car on the ground take it for a drive, and adjust as needed... the kit is labled as 2" or have you already found the true drop rate? come kits (tokico for sure) say 1.5" and they drop about 2" and their are 2" kits drop almost 2.75" so be careful!

You have to cut the bump stops a little bit when you lower a car. If you dont then when you turn hard you will hit them and the car wont handle good.

On that same token, if you have no bumpstops then sure you'll have a little more lee-way but when you bottom out you will bottom out. Personally though, I have the bumpstops on my Cavy and if I were to do it again I wouldnt have let them be there and they wont be there on the Talon.

I wouldn't take them all the way out. They are suppse to keep the struts from bottoming out really hard. I would at least have a little something in there.

Yea you definately shouldn't get rid of them. There are there for a reason. When I did mine I cut them almost completely in half and they work fine.

Are we talking about the platform thats under the wheel wheel just above the tire?

Its a rubber stopper that goes on the strut rod.

Don't cut them. If you're only lowering it 2", you don't need to cut them. The only way you'll bottom out is if you turn while going downhill on a speedbump, and even then you may not bottom out. Just leave them as is unless you have problems.

I agree with Joe... can we get some pics. I'll probably know exactly what it is as soon as I see it.

This is off a 3rd gen eclipse but the 2gs are similar.

That does look exactly like the 2g ones. I cut the first 1/3 of it off(the smaller end) and its fine. I don't know for sure if you NEED to but I read a few install threads on the internet and they all cut the bumpstops at least a little.

I thought the 2gens had 4 rings? Maybe not, it has been so long since I did my suspention. Also mine were already cut on my car.

I used the 1/3 that I cut off of one of the bump stops as a spacer to make the cd player in my truck not move haha.

LOL, I get it now. My buddy at work showed me and explained the whole thing. From the looks of the stopper it seems that 1/2 would be too much. I agree with rock about the 1/3.
