How to glue down p/etch rivets

Hi all

My Mclaren Mp4/5 Build is coming along ok, and I've just taken delivery of some very nice (but extremely small) photoetch rivets and bolt heads to adorn the monocoque and body of the car.

are there any tried and tested techniques to secure these as I'm a little concerned that If I use CA glue how to apply a small enough amount to not be visible once the tiny rivet is positioned

any tips ?

I use acrylic clear coat - a small dot of it applied with a toothpick will be enough to hold the rivet in place and once it dries you can't see the clear coat either.

Use Tamiya Clear or Future floor wax.

I have also used Testros MM Laquer clear that matches the sheen of the part that is accepting the PE piece.

If you are attaching it to a flat piece, use flat clear. It helps it blend in better.

Also, if you are worried about the clear showing up too much and it is on a small piece, I have brushed the entire piece clear and placed the PE pieces with a toothpick on the piece. This gives a uniform appearance as the PE pieces are all sitting on a single layer vs being propped up on little dots of clear.

I use white pva wood glue (dries clear) Invisible fixing and if you make a mistake simply wipe off with a little water.

I used very small amounts of white glue for my Audi R10 rivets. They were more or less 'fastened' in place by a clear coat. They've since held up pretty well to some minor polishing and a lot of handling.
