For my sisters car:
1. vent / heat / AC only works on highest blow setting, did some research and found out thats a blower motor resistor problem, so I went ahead and ordered it and it should be here tommorrow. Anyone know exactly where its located so I can replace it? Thanks.
2. I'll be going on a roadtrip with my sister using her car. Both our first roadtrips. From CA to AZ. About 6-7 hour drive. Anything I should bring along incase anything breaks down? (Besides a spare tire and jack, which is in the trunk)

1. Try this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=665246
It says it's for the Grand Am, but it's the same on the Alero.
2. Duct tape fixes a lot of broken stuff. Make sure your spare has air in it. Maybe a quart of oil, and some basic hand tools. I'm not sure how far from civilization you will be, but consider the climate and terrain, and how long it would take you to walk to help. Bring a good map also.

Thanks for the link & tips.
Her rear defroster doesn't work, and i've been reading about 2000 alero's and seems a lot of people have this problem(and a ton of others, seems maybe my sister has been lucky with only these problems), but couldn't find out what causes it to fail. Any idea's what I need to do to fix it?
The passanger seat will go threw phases of shifting forward and backwards just a tiny bit and go back and forth when ever you have to stop at a stop sign or anything, and its annoying, I havn't even looked at this, but any idea's before I go in? It shouldn't really be too bad for the roadtrip since it'll be mostly freeway driving but would still be nice to fix.
Also on the passanger side somewhere isn't sealed correctly and mostly at high speeds you can hear it(like wind) sounds like the window is down just a crack or something, but its fully up. It's extremely annoying and i cant see or feel where the air is coming in, only hear it. Any idea's?

Check the fuse and relay first.
Sometimes the grid on the glass gets damaged. T
hey sell kits to repair this at most auto stores. Sometimes you can fix the grind sometimes you cant.
You can use an OHM meter to test for continuety in the grid circuits to see if they are broken cicuits.

Check under the seat for anything catching the cable and wires to the release latchs on the outer track area.
Sometimes debrie gets into them or stuff under the seat can keep them from locking into position.

Yeah it's probly the door seal not sealing properly right by the front pillars, but could be anywhere.
You'll need to get the gasket to push out further, body shops uses a hot glue to raise them. Finding the actual leak is the hard part with air leaks.
Hope that helps & Good Luck.
