Hazards not working!!! WHY?!?!?!

I have encountered a second vehicle with the same problem. The first is a 94 model chevy 1500 w/ a 4.3L and the second or current one is a '93 model, same thing. On both of them, the hazards do not work. The fuses are good and the flashers are good. The turn signals work correctly. If and when you activate the hazard flasher/lights, nothing happens. The lights dont come on, they dont blink or flash, they dont do anything. When you step on the brake however (with the hazard switch still on), the parking lamps/turn signals come on, but I do believe that is normal. I dont see any loose grounds, and I have replaced the flasher relays twice on each vehicle. All of my fuses are good. Has anyone had similair problems? If so, what was your case like? Were you able to fix it? Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks in advance guys (and girls).

Do you have power to the flasher switch? Sounds like an open wire somewhere.

You could do a test to see if there is power at the flashers slot , if there is run a jumper and see if they light up. If they do then try a flasher made for semi trucks.

sounds like the same thing happened to me. what i figured out today is that when the flasher switch is up(turned on) push the top of it towards the left. it works on mine- i think i have to replace the switch now.
hope this helps

I was just thinking back and remembered that the hazards flash through the brake lights , if your brake lights don't come on when you step on the pedal then you need to replace the turn signal switch.
