Ok, just got my compound today. But my question is: Before you apply the compound you have to sand the body but must that be done wet??
Can I put after that the Compound on?

Here's what I do.
I sand the body with 1200 grit paper, after that 1500 and then finish with 2000 grit paper.
Then I rub the body with the compound with a soft coton cloth.
You may have to repeat the rubbing process to get a very good mirror-like shine. If scratch are still visible, re-sand and re-polish.
Good luck.
(I wasn't sure the first time I tried, but it turned out okay :) )

If you wet sand you will have less build up on the sand paper, which will make it last longer. It also helps(but does not eliminate) to lower the possibility of gouging the paint. I would start with 1,500, then 2,000, and finish with 4,000 before rubbing compound.

Thanks for the answers. I think I'm going to sand it wet.

If there is no orange peel and the paint is almost perfect....dont bother sanding. Just compound
