Fast and the Furious..

I saw it finally a coupla weeks ago, what a load of crap...should've seen TombRaider.
SOME of the cars were cool, the Supra and the Eclipse looked way overdone and the
Skyline was easily the coolest car in the movie but it didnt race damnit.
Did anyone get that line "It's Got a full Motec exhaust system.."????
Motec makes "Engine Management Systems" in Austrailia I believe LOL.
However, the first thing I did when I exited the movie carpark was race a GSR lancer
whos driver also saw the movie.
Why was the RX7 only seen once????

I saw it last week as well. I thought it was real fun if you don't take it too seriously. If you want accuracy then the movie would need to include all the maiming/killing and grief that results from speeding on public roads.

A mate saw Tomb Raider and thought it was crap so you might as well see a crap movie about cars than anything else.

I think the line in the movie was supposed to be "It's Got a full Motec, (and), exhaust system.."???? with a comma inserted but the pause for the comma would've been shortened to try to maintain the tempo.

After the movie I was having a good laugh at those guys who couldn't contain themselves while driving home. Hope they don't take anyone with them when they eventually crash.:)

I'm finally getting of my arse to go and see it this week

Its a cool film, the best and only one of its kind, for modded cars anyway. Hope to see more of it:D It doesnt half give you ideas though. You go home from watching it, wanting to install 'Nitrous' or just race anyone whos beside you going home.:D

All in all, sound film.

definitly better than tomb raider. You did the right thing by not going to tomb raider WORST MOVIE EVER.

c'mon people..F&F is B movie magic at its best!!!! Im not even kidding..if you dont take it seriously you will love it..cant wait till it comes out on DVD:D

It's an Australian movie called 'IN THE RED' and came out August 2nd. Doesn't look as if they are giving a release date for it in the USA though.

What's that I see? A turbocharged Nissan 200SX? Woohoo! Actually a 240SX to us Americans, but it's got a turbo, so hmm? Must be a SR20!

Since someone mentioned Aussie car flics......
about 15-20 years ago (before even the first Mad Max) was a movie called "Running on Empty".
It's another street racing movie but from the muscle car era - Chevs, GTHO Phase III (Shaker) Falcons and XU-1 Toranas. Check it out if your video store has a copy coz this is one you can take seriously!:)

Yes, you read that right. It was a real deal.

The Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, organized by Brock Yates of Car & Driver. It was run three times.

I'm old enough to remember reading the account of the first one when it was run (I was but a wee lad of about 10 or so). :D

I have speedvision! hehe, I've watched quite a few of the old racing movies. :jump: I've actually liked most of them too. Some where jsut too "old" for my tastes, but i have found most to be decent movies.

Talkin bout car flicks I saw the original 'Gone in 60 Sec', very ahead

I may try to find 'running on empty'. The best car video I have ever seen is still the Group B rally cars, they were the most kick arse rally cars ever built, 600hp on gravel, doing sometimes 300kmhr on straights
and twisty bits. It is obvious why so many drivers got killed.
(there was a Nissan competing at the time but I dont know what it was)

I wasn't even realistic or a good representation of the import scene, the only scene I really thought was cool was the start with the turbo Hondas at nightime.
If anyone is interested the NZ Four and Rotary Nationals is on this weekend 21st Oct, this is the biggest in Nz. There are some really funny videos available you may want to watch from last year, I'll find a link when I can. The burnout competition last year had about 8 rotarys doing some awesome burnouts, 3 SURVIVED! One RX7 blew both guards apart, the bonnet and caught fire as the flywheel disengaged completely from the engine dumping the starter and clutch on the track.
An RX2 sent the starter throught the bonnet!
There will be a 10 sec Integra, 2x 10 sec Skylines, Evos, GtiRs, a few 10 sec RX7's and burnouts. The previous year a GTiR did 11 flat on the 1/4 but an aussie exported back it to Oz. Should be real cool this weekend.
Unfortunatey there will be few Primeras/G20's in the event, perhaps 1 or 2 turbo's.

cool.. that was just on movieplex last night. that being my first time seeing it as well. definitely a great movie.. soundtrack is a little fruity though.
