Belt Shredding

I have a 98 1500 4x4 5.2 it is shredding belts went through 3 so far there is some squeaking but I cant narrow it down... I already replaced the belt tensioner and it still shreadded a belt.... :banghead:

You are on the right track. Take the belt off and try feeling all of the pulleys for a rough or loose bearing. Also look hard for something out of line. I replaced a tensioner a while back and it started shredding belts with the new one. It turned out to be a defective tensioner. I expected a lot of problems with the dealer but they just swapped it out. I was still out the labor for doing it twice.

Yeah I found it... It was the water pump the pully is loose....

yep them wobbling pulleys will do it.
