I started this last year and finished it in November.

Some of you have seen this elsewhere. I have decided to post it here an introduction to a new project I am working on and will post here as well. The cars on this forum are a little more my speed with the Ferrari's (Fully open 360 Modena is awesome as well as many others out there), Porsches, Lambo's, etc.

I built a Yamaha Marco Milandri Spider bike and accidentally bought two on ebay. I decided to take the second one and turn into what a bike would look like if Ferrari were to have built it in tandem to the FXX.

I started with the Tamiya Yamaha kit, a Top Studio detail kit, some Crazy Modeler PE kits and a CM decal sheet.

Some asked why I did not start with a Ducati. I already had the Yamaha and the lines to me looked more appriate on this for the FXX look.

The front forks were lowered and the rear was stretched. If this was going to be Ferrari, it had to be low and a little longer for more aggressive looks.

I stole some brake decals from a Revell F430 kit. The red stripes on the wheels were left over from the Marco Milandri kit. I covered them with some Tamiya clear red to make them a little more red and less pink. The carbon fiber was cleared with Tamiya smoke to give some added depth. PE pieces were given a wash with some thinned out Tamiya flat black.

The Top Studio kit has so many details it is overwhelming. I used most of them to dress up the engine. The engine was covered with many different shades of Alclad laquers. Yes, I left a weld seam in there I realized after it was too late.

A little prancing horse hides behind the front tire on the grill.

Another horse resides on the seat as if it were embossed in the leather.

Studio 27 carbon fiber worked well. KA Models are my new CF decals of choice. The red is the MM Italian Red covered with 2 part Transtar clear left over from a 1:1 car years back. I always wondered why you guys raved about the 2 part clear until I tried it!

This wheel is jammed up in there good. It can't get much lower.

Great concept--it turned out nice! I'm amazed how red your MM Italian Red is. Mine turned out a really orange color.

Is your background white? Could you adjust the WB on the camera so I can see how red that paint really is?

Thank you for all of the comments!

JMWallac, Your pictures tell me you are a great photographer and understand all this stuff. I do not know exacltly what you mean about the camera settings. Yes, the background is white and the red is pretty red, not orange.

This picture may help?
Check out others in the fotki albums.
I think you have a bad batch.

I hope this helps,
Andy

Fantastic work, I totally agree, why use a ducati, when at the end of the day it would probably still look like a ducati, this is very creative and awesome work, ;ove the little details you have included like the embossed logo on seat. hope to see some more of your builds on here.

I really wished I had this in 1/24 scale on the shelf next to a FXX in red also. Nice work.
