Gates (timing belt manufacturer) recommends every 60,000 miles under severe use conditions.

It is a bad idea to spray anything on the clutch plate. It will absorb anything you spray on it, and you really can't get to the clutch unless you disassemble it since it is pressed for its entire area between the pressure plate and the flywheel.

If the clutch is slipping, it is either out of adjustment (not possible in your case), or the pressure plate has been overheated and the springs have lost their tension, or there is no longer enough clutch lining to keep it locked up, or it is contaminated. Replace the clutch and/or pressure plate.

brian, where is the adjustment?I thought it should be between the slave and arm,but not really anything there. You are right the clutch is probably contaminated atleast.I plan to replace it next week and was asking some questions and alternatives if any. While I do that what else might be done beings it will be that much apart?besides throw-out and pressure plate. seals ?thanks alot brian, appreciate answers

The only adjustment available to you is pedal free-play (adjusted to 1-5 mm behind pedal at push rod). This may be your problem, as well as possibly a binding release fork. You can grease the release fork with moly grease at all the contact points. You can also adjust pedal height, but it can't cause a slipping clutch.

You can check the pilot bearing once you have the clutch removed. If it is rough or turns with difficulty, replace it.
