FYI, I was able to test both of my radiator fans with a 9 volt radio battery and a couple of wires. They both work.

Using a 9v battery is not enough voltage for those fans, the best way to test the fans is to make a little set of jumper wires with alligator clips on each end and run power right from the battery to the fans.

I'm surprised that the few milliamps from a 9V battery would even turn a 150W fan motor. I've never tried it, though. Jumper wires work well.

ok,your right,i appoligize.
anyways, you could also test your fans without unplugging them(at least on models from91-93? not to sure.
if you short circuit post a and post b on your diagnostic connector, your fans will turn on(with the key on)
now im not sure if both fans come on,and im not to sure if it works the same on 93and up cars
please correct me if im wrong
and once again im sorry for the LOL post
