I just bought a 2004 yukon, and I want to put an aftermarket dvd player in. However, the dome light/rear temperature controls are right in the way. Can they be moved farther back to make room, or is there a way to do away with the rear controls completely? Thanks

A new DVD/TV will have a dome light integrated. Your factory dome light and rear air controls will have to be removed completely and the new DVD/TV will cover up the empty space. I was fortunate enough to have an overhead console available when I bought my TV for my Yukon and was able to keep the rear controls. I don't know if these are still available but you may want to ask your installer. Overhead TV and console were both manufactured by Audiovox. I have the same audio vox DVD with 10.4 inch screen. Although my hvac controls are down below and between the front row seats.
