My son's 98 civic will not start. It ran fine one day, next day...absolutely nothing. My husband went to get a new battery and auto store said it just needed charging. They charged it, replaced it in car, the door ajar bell rang for about 2 seconds, then nothing again. No brake lights, no power at all. Husband checked all fuses and lines coming to and from battery, and all is good. Any suggestions?

Although you probably have it fixed by now, I saw this post and figured I'd offer a suggestion: Swap batteries with a car that you know works. and when it comes to checking all fuses, you know that there's a big 80 amp fuse in the engine compartment too right? Wouldn't that be funny if it was just slightly set in place enough to make contact only to lose it from the slight vibration of the door closing or someone plopping down onto the driver's seat? I thought I had a problem with my turn signal switch until I saw that the fuse was loose (it had been working, then failed to work once only to work right after and hardly got noticed. Then a few days later it happened again and I took notice but figured it was just a glitch or some moisture or something. A week later it just stopped for good. All that from just a loose fuse!)

yea you need to check the 40 amp fuse at battery junction box located at the top left hand corner of your engine bay
