SURFIN... and BANG!

anyone ever thought of this (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/283834-boost-creep-modified-wga-peepers-mod-how.html)?? looks to be the answer to the 14b/16g boost creep problems! it seems a little rough, but if someone were to manufacture these wastegates as opposed to the oem ones, this would be a pretty good rig IMO... it looks interesting, and not to mention, way more function, i mean check out that video at the end! look how far that W/G opens! IMO! whats your guy's thoughts on this?:popcorn:

#1 cure for boost creep was o2 dump... does that cure boost creep good?

On ebay they aren't too expensive and if they cure boost creep well...

I believe Kevin said that the o2 dumps dont help at all with boost creep, maybe it would if you were running stock exhaust or something.

Wouldn't dumping externally with an internal wastegate lessen backpressure and free up the flow helping reduce boost creep?

It sounds good in theory, but the fact is that there isin't much backpressure slowing down the exhaust, especially on a setup likes yours with 3" exhaust. There just isin't a noticable difference to justify the cost/time it takes to do it.

so then the only ways to get rid of boost creep is go to an external wg, or port the exhaust manifold, and o2 housing?

IMO, if its that bad, then just go external.

That still doesn't fix it. I have a internal gate and 02 dump and adjusted it many a times. And at 25+ psi, the 02 dump doesn't help internally gated. It helps a little, just not enough.

i have this! my car sounds SICK at WOT... their are some that have two short of a dump, and they make the car "sound like a rusty 88 caddy with no mufflers" (kevin's words) but i love mine! its the same thing paul, and its a bolt on, the wastegate is simply not re-routed back into the exhaust... give my car a MEAN "turbo" sound at WOT... i mean its like night and day! once that gate opens, people know to get out of the way! lol! i only noticed a slow down in boost creap though... (doesnt creep as fast but still creeps as far as it did but only reached all the way at redline) after my port, i noticed a HUGE drop in creep... but it still crawls up*1k..2k..3k..4k..5k(1psi)..6k..6.5k(2psi)..shift * like that! haha but i would recomend it if you are going to be changin your o2 housing anyway... i can get some pics if you wanna see it ;) the sound alone is well worth the $50 IMO...

EDIT: the one i got, the bolts where not hardened and they broke when installing the downpipe... lol i broke them with ease to... so i would recomend a quick run to the hardware store before install... not to mention their are no turbo to housing bolts included and rusty OEM ones dont look nice on a shinny new pipe... :smokin:
