Hi all!

Building this one for a customer with some specials, chrome trim substituted with chrome dots, aftermarket steering wheel, center consol and new gear shift lever and painted in blütorange (a Porsche colour from the early 70's)

Had to scratch build the steering wheel and consol to get the interior right. Besides that the bumpers has to be altered, extra lights made, mirrors also has to be scratched.

As of today it got it's right colour on but it has to be weathered a bit to get that chalky, dusty look and the hood painted flat black.

Well, enough talking and on to the pictures.
The original piece.

Got some fresh pics of todays efforts, got the hood painted and the chrome trim done. Have to remove and make a new try at the letters on the hood as I'm no way near satisfaction with them today.

Just made a quick mock-up so you would get a feel of how it's going to look when ready.

A correction has to be made, this is not a 122 but a 121 so everyone get the correct info. My mistake, appologies for that.

Hi!
Dug this one out again to try to finish it in a not to distant future.

A couple of miles down a dusty gravel road left the car looking like this. Also put on some primer to keep the rust away. So nice to finally have an airbrush that lets you do things like this without painting your left hand, the table, the wall behind it and just about everything else within 5 yards.

Got the "primer" on the right front wing to run and after wiping that off I got a clean spot that looks totally wrong. It will be corrected later.

I kept painting my right hand even if I got myself an airbrush!
As for the VOLVO letters, how about cutting them off from thin plastic boards (like 0.5mm), paint them with alclad chrome, then glue them on with superglue? Might be lot more work than trying to BMF the existing bumps but it's the best way I could think of.

Thank's man!
I will sure give the plastic letters a go to see if it works out, it's not very convincing as it is now.
In fact I think it spoils the whole front.

Maybe I'm not capable of pulling such work off as the letters are very small but hey, who dares wins!?

I don't know where you live, but in my LHS they used to sell premade styrene letters, they get really small (like 2mm) and all you need to do is just cut them off the tree carefully. The brand is called Plast****, if I remember correctly. You should go check it out.

As for cutting the letters yourself, this is how far I got:

It's not perfect especially on the A and the R and the G, but since you only have to do 2 V's , an L and 2 O's it should be fine. At least you will have solid pop-out letters instead of "paint bumps" on the hood
