01-S-10 with the factory radio/cassette. I want to replace this with a CD outfit. I can go to Crutchfield and get a CD player with the wireing and installation kit for $130. Anyone buy a CD player from Walmart? If I go that route would I need to buy an installation kit for it to fit my S-10? Does Walmart sell such a thing? Maybe it's just best to buy from Crutchfield? Thanks!

I've bought several Pioneer cd players from walmart and never had a problem with any of them. the latest one being the DEH-7700 which ran about 260 bucks. Bought the installation kit and wiring harness there to. i think the installation kit and wiring harness ran between 20 to 25 bucks. The cd player itself sounded excellent. seperate controls for the component speakers and sub-woofers if you decide to put them in later. high-pass, low pass filters, TONS of extras but not enuff that its gonna take you forever to get used to it. I would suggest getting one with the remote and try to get used to it quick. Dont get scared about it, once you get used to it it's a good way to keep your eyes on the road instead of the cd player, you can tell where the buttons are just by feel after you've figured it out. Hope i helped in someway or other post back and let us know what you got. May not be a expert mechanic but i have owed quite a few stereos!
