I am a metal fabricator and just finished a cage in an Audi http://www.flickr.com/photos/23867943@N07/2277139150/
and decided to build a full tube car (just a skin of a street car stretched over a tube chassis) in a Corrado someone gave me. I want to put a quattro drivetrain. I found a "90" that I can grab for free. Is there any durability issues with the trannies in those? T-case? how about the third members? I am planning a VR6 for a motor. Is there a more suitable model to start with that is very common? The A4 was a pleasure to work on. Audi uses a wax based sealent and insulator on the bodies, one of the coolest things I have ever seen on a car. Big props to Audi. It's not hard to see why there so many Audi fans, the cars are really well engineered.
