20G supporting mods

This guy in town that I know is selling his HRC S20G. He is selling it for $750. I would get everything except for the oil line for the turbo to the filter housing and oil draining components for the turbo oil drain area. Of course I know that I would have to have supporting mods. I am going to list all the supporting mods I can think of that I need, if I am missing anything please let me know.
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-Fuel injectors...think I could get by with 550's or should I get 660's?
-S-AFC
-35mm external wastegate
-Would my 2.5" turbo-back exhaust be fine w/ this turbo?
-A larger intake to bolt the filter up to the inlet. FMIC w/ new piping.
-ACT 2600
Just let me know if i'm missing anything important that I need to run this turbo. Thanks

from what i hear, 20g turbo is a big turbo! and if you want highend power, u would want that but if you want fast kickin in power, get a big 16g turbo

With the Walbro, you should get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The stock unit will get overflowed and start raising fuel pressure too high making tuning much harder. I am assuming you want to run a lot of boost, so get the 660 injectors as it will let you run more boost on pump gas. With the HRC S20g, There is no need for an external wastegate, it will not boost creep thanks to a 10cm^2 turbine housing design. Unless he already ported out the wastegate hole, stick internally gated. A 2.5 in exhaust would start to limit performance and you should really go to a full 3 inch O2 eliminator turbo back. Other things I would consider doing is getting ARP headstuds and a metal Mitsubishi headgasket as at high boost the head might lift a small amount and blow your headgasket. Also might want to remove your balance shafts to free up some oil pressure. Just as a last thought check your compression and make sure your too low on any cylinders.

Cool, thanks a bunch for the reply. I believe I'm just gonna come to my senses and get a big 16g. It can hold enough power that i'll really realistically ever have. I need to learn a lot more before I do anything though.

The 10cm turbine housing does not add a lot of lag, as the case is with moving for a 6cm to 7 or 8 cm. It is just a way to increase flow to the wastegate. Super turbos are great turbos, they out flow mitsu turbos, don't boost creep, and a lot of R&D has gone into them.1

Skip the 255lp pump, and just get the 190lp. There will be no need in getting a FPR. I would also suggest doing the 3bar map mod for the AFC. To be quite honest, I would stay away from the 10cm housing. a 7cm with a nice clip for top end would do just fine. 16G turbo's are nice, but you will get tired from the lack of top end. They are very good turbo's for street setups, yet you will be much happier with the 20g. Ofcourse, tuning is a big factor too. You can EGT tune and tap the blue wire to the o2 feed from the ECU to read o2volts (Blue wire mod). Or you can go with a wide band...its up to you.

BTW...I really would not recomend the S20G. If you want something that will spool at the same RPM and have better top end, get a T3 60-1 with a stage 3 wheel.

A 60-1 won’t spool anywhere close to a S20g or any other 20g. It has much more lag. Sure it’s a T3 turbine wheel, but the compressor is what is adding the lag here. You would probably run slower times with a 60-1 then a 20g due to spool. Unless you’re using nitrous of course.

I have seen and been in cars that have had a s20g. In my opinion...its a crappy turbo. Spool time is somewhat the same. Think about how much exhaust stream needs to be expunged in order to propel the blades in a housing that big...it takes alot. Now, the 60-1 may take a couple hundred RPM's more to spool, but top end will be much better than a super 20g. In my honest opinion, a Tdo5h or 6 20G with a 7cm housing is a much better street turbo than a super or 60-1.

Maybe you didn't understand me. A 60-1 and a S20g don't spool anywhere close to each other. You obviously don't understand the 10cm turbine housing. It does not add a lot of lag. Read up on them before you post your urban legends. It flows about what a clipped 7cm does. A 60-1 can spool up to a 1000 rpm later than a S20g. A S20g is a great street turbo unless you’re a wuss about . No need to go external or run higher boost. I hope you are thinking of a 60 trim turbo, but defiantly not a 60-1. The TDO5H is a waste when mated to a 20g wheel. It should be with the TDO6 turbine.

I respect your decision not to like the turbo, just be open minded about it. Like with with me and Mutts turbos. Can put down big power, but I would never put it on my car, its just personal preference.
