Has anybody ordered from them ?how is their service? They have one of my most sought after models I would like to get from them, Hasegawa's Lancia Super Delta 92 Makes Champion. How much is shipping(SAL) to the USA(east coast) and about how long does it take.

Short answer is, if you want the kit go ahead and order it.
Rainbow 10 is an excellent service- many, many people here have ordered from them and been perfectly happy.
If you want an explanation of SAL, go to HLJ (http://www.hlj.com/hlj_shipping.html) and see what they estimate for a similar kit. You should have it in 2-4 weeks.

I ordered from them several times.
And I've found it better than HLJ.
SAL from Japan to Europe took 7-10 days.
They also send it as a gift and declare a low value so that you don't pay customs taxes.
I hope this helped.

Agreed with what the others say. I have placed many, many orders with them and they have always been wonderful to deal with.
I use Air and receive the packages to Denver, CO in 7 days tops.
One is in the air as I type this!

I take it from your previous post regarding the wheels from the Delta (I had no ideas, sorry!) that you have not, or at least not regularly, ordered from a model shop over the internet. I ordered quite a bit from four shops over the net: Rainbow Ten, Hobby Link Japan (HLJ), 1999.co.jp (Hobby Seach) - all from Japan - and Media Mix Hobbies from Singapore. I find all four to be very good, with fast service and good support if something goes missing.
My best advice, for all internet shopping, is to know the customs and import duty requirements for you country - USA right? For example, here in Australia if the value of goods + shipping is less than Aus$250 (based on current exchange rates) then it is fine. Anything over this a 10% tax applies, and a $65 handling fee for the privilege of being taxed. Oh, and the parcel can be delayed in customs for weeks until they process it. So I always order up to this amount.
Hope this helps.
Grant.

Thanks to all. I used to order stuff frm HLJ until UPS trippled there shipping rates. I guess I will have to give them a try because this is one of my all time favorite rally cars.

Another satisfied customer of Rainbow Ten here.
If you are buying one or two kits that weigh no more than 2.0 kg, use SAL small packet, instead of SAL parcel.

Depending on the kits, R10 can pack up to 4 kits into one SAL Small Packet, which is the reason I usually buy 4 kits per order.

I used HLJ recently and the shipping was about $9 for a kit and aftermarket
stuff. Which compared to the rate of the US postal service have gone up alot as well. i use to send 3 kits AMT box size to Puerto Rico for about $15
and now its cost me $25 because they measure the box if you don't use one of there boxes.

I've wanted to order at Rainbow Ten, but their website puts me off.
HLJ takes forever, but at least they have pictures and detailed description for most of their products.

Is their service and shipping much faster? It wouldn't make much sense to order from R10 otherwise, since their prices are identical compared to HLJ.

They have a better selection than HLJ. Nothing against HLJ but R10 seems to keep a better stock of items.

All of my orders from them are shipped within two days. HLJ always take longer, and charge more for shipping. Then only thing I don't like is the lack of encryption in their website. Had to send them my cc info by email. I was a bit nervous about it but never had any problems. You only have to do it one time.

Having placed my first ever modeling related order with HLJ I was really disapointed by the end result.
They only wanted to send it by EMS because of the size, so I paid in excess of 60€ for shipping 8 kits from Japan to Europe. and than had to pay another 50€ customs taxes. All this for kits worth about 160€!
Than I discovered R10! Prices were lower (at least for the kits I bought) and the kits were readily available.
They ship with whtever method you chose, and if the weight is more than 2kgs they do pack it in several SAL packs. This way I pay only around 4€ shipping costs for a kit!
And the best part is that they declare it as gift or/with very very low prices and I don't have to pay customs taxes.
R10 prices even beats the HK eBay sellers in at least 50% of the cases.

I got my Lancia today. The SAL shipping is a little slow but their srvice is excellent and it was packed very well in a sturdy box and the model was shrink wrapped inside. Some people mentioned the decals in this kit as not being any good, I think they look fine to me. I will buy from them again for sure.
