ok so im leavin my job about 2 o'clock, and the local high school as just lettin out as i drove past. as soon as i pull out, one of the kids in the most riced out honda i have ever seen, flies past me.. now i am also a civic driver( 1994 civic ex) but the body is totally stock.. the engine however, is not. cai, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and exhaust, but it is only a 2.25", so nothin like a fart can :P.. i pop it into 2nd, catch up with him going about 40-45... he decides that i look like easy meat to screw around with, since he is just a young dude jacked up on testosterone and parent's money :P. we turn onto this little side street, where he hammers is, although i could tell its an automatic.... i pop it in 2nd, smash into 3rd, pull into the other lane, and fly around him doin about 70. i drop it into 4th to take a little stress off the engine... he tries to catch up, but doesnt until the next stop light. i would say 5-7 cars back AT CLOSEST. is this a richeous kill since its a ricer honda and its an auto? im thinkin yes...

Nice kill man...its always nice to put a ricer in their place. This one probably meant more to you cause it was a fellow honda owner, but he was giving them a bad name!

Just do as I did with my D16 in my Honda days. Throw a camshaft in there, and redline all day everyday. It'll eventually blow up...lol. Gawd...I want another Honda just to blow up the engine. Just to say I'm one of the few out there that managed to do it N/A...
As for the B18 (C1 I'm assuming), what exactly are you throwing at it? Simple bolts on? Build up for boost? Nitrous? Built up for ITB's and bolt ons? Are you going to Autocross it? Or is it going to be a Track/Street driven puppy? Or is it going to be all around?
I like to ask because I'm actually thinking of getting my ol' Civ back and buying an engine for a swap. I won't say, but I will say it's uncommon on what I want to do. But this isn't my thread. So, please, let's here what you plan on doing with your "awaiting" engine. :)

the only reason i have the b18, is for the DOHC.... im actually thinkin about boostin the d16, and using the b18 and putin it in another donor car.... prolly the same year civic... the DOHC will at least get nos... i have a edelbrock hide-a-way kit on my d16 now, but its only shootin a 25 shot... just a little extra jump.... got it for 80 bux, so im not complainin'.... i use the civic i have now to do street race on saturday nights... the b18 would prolly go to somethin else, seeing i dont want to take the chance turboing the b18.

yea thats the thing: the b18 is DOHC; a lot harder to run high boost levels with DOHC.... SOHC is a ton easier to run boost with, as long as you have a good set of rods in it.... stock rods have been known to give out at anything over220hp...

everyone knows, boost is better. i mean, ask cassies, and if you lose traction easily, turbolag is your friend.
frankenstein b18's don't work so hot anyway, i dont' remember you saying it actually was or was not a c1 or c5 b18, so i'll have to assume it isn't

Vtec, the poor mans turbo.
Turbo lag, the poor mans traction control.
Turbos, the poor mans replacement for displacement.

Haha, I don't see the poor man in that. Turbo cars are generally expensive, more so than a car's option to have traction control. And many turbo cars with smaller motors are far more than a big motor. Take for instance practically any turbo model that competes with a GM dime a dozen n/a motor.

Little turbo cars used to be fairly cheap, especially if you stick to a little Nissan 240sx and turbo it up. Or maybe a MR2 turbo.
Things of that nature... there's lots of turbo cars now days that are way expensive. Such as the new Subaru STI, friggin nearly $40k for that damn thing.

c1?? damn, raise the compression, do it all motor, i see 11's in your future.
turbo is just a more efficient way to make power. it doesn't replace displacement, but it makes the displacement you have RUN LIKE HELL!!!!!
i'd much rather have an LS series motor with twin turbos than most any other setup, but its so gosh darn expensive.

VTEC, all the turbo lag, none of the turbo power
VTEC, training wheels for future boosters.
How can you tell when a BMW driver used to have a Honda? He says he can hear Vanos kick in.

would it be wiser than to just do a simpkle nos setup? i mean its lgeal here, and a hella lot cheaper than a turbo setup... i can still use it afterwards to if i decide to add more internal mods

Seriously, If I added nitrous, I would always feel I was missing something, so just go ahead and do the basic stuff, and then if you feel like you are still lacking, add some N2O
