big 16g evo3 boost problem on 91 talon tsi fwd m/t

well i've checked every boost related problems on this site and nothing seemed to help, so heres my question.
just put in a new big16g evo3 turbo and walbro fuel pump,and its running quick,i wanna raise boost thow. but in first gear it only hits 5psi,2nd gear 7psi,and third and on it will hit about 9psi. when i turn the boost all the way up on my m.b.c it stays at same psi 5,7 than 9,and when i turn it all the way down same thing?the way i have it hooked up is one line running from b.c to wastgate accuator. and the other line runs to the housing that goes from turbo to intercooler bottem tubing. that line u can pull off on the housing right by the turbo.
turbos kinda strong, but how do i get it to boost higher?have aftermarket guage so boost is reading right. the turbo was brand new in box to. took out other stock 14b cus the bearing was going bad and was spitting oil into the i.c and eventully into intake man.
also tryed hooking it up by splicing the vac. line that runs from bottem of b.o.v to mid. of intake, t taping it then the open end of t put line going to b.c, then b.c to waistgate.the b.c is new to and it opens and closes right. please helphttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon9.gif

take the boost controler out of the system, and see what happens. just run it on the wastegate spring... (disconnect the vac line from the wastegate) see if that changes anything, if so, boost controler is shot! the spring is dead. if not... hmm... could have the wastegate stuck open which is possible considering you didnt say anything about ported, and majority of people with stock 16gs creep about 7-9psi... 9psi total could be a creap from 0psi set (ie open wastegate) :2cents:

just took line off w.g accuator and ran it, it hit 10psi in 1st gear,13psi threw all the other gears. so my b.c is shot? is it safe to run the w.g acc. unplugged for now?turbo came ported also.

As long as your not running out of fuel it wont hurt anything running it like that. What is the internal gate suppose to open at?

its an external waistgate. i got 1 new b.c off ebay for 20$ thats the one i tried, i also have 1 from like a year ago thats a little better but its old. think it was like 60$. leak test is coming soon, if anything its probubly that p.o.s bottem i.c pipeing, cuz all the other tubing looks good.that 1 u cant tell cuz that weaved heat stuff around it.every couplers tight.

Now is this 7-13 psi the boost you are getting at red line? When I first installed my e316g the cotter pin fell off of the wastegate actuator. I wouldnt get any boost until about 5k rpms, and then I would hit around 15 or so. Once I hooked that back up I was back in business. I had it set at 15 psi and it would creep to 20-21. So I just set it at 20psi and tuned for that. I disconnected the line going to my wastegate when I was troubleshooting my MBC, and the boost shot up to 25-26 psi before I could even let off of the throttle.

checkd for the cotter pin and its there, and yah its only hitting real boost at 4500 to 5000 rpm, thats 10psi with the w.g vac hookd back up. it starts to boost at 3000rpm like 4 to 5 psi. i took out the 255 fuel pump till i get a f.pressure reg. cuz it ran like crap and found out there was a 97 gst fuel pump and strainer put in. so thats whats in it now. the reciept says bosch fuel pump for 97 eclipse and retainer. 97 gst what the hell.says this ticket contains parts for a 91 amc eagle talon for 1997 2.0L dohc. bosch elec. fuel pump list price 200.28$ and fuel pump strainer 32.29$. date put in 12/26/07

back to the waistgat i pulled the cotter pin off and took the rod off the external waistgate.it was hard but pulled on it and it moved out like an inch then back in. when i put it back on i had to pull the spring loaded rod back on.
the turbos rated at 36psi and can only get 13psi with w.g vac line off, w.t.f
and it should be hitting 20 25psi. i dont get it.:banghead:
