Im in the middle of putting a '78 small block chevy with 350 turbo tranny into a 95 Caprice for a race car. Car came with LT1 and 4l60e but have removed both.
For some reason the motor mounts and frame mounts are lineing up. One side will line up but other side is not close. I was thinking all the mounts would work but arent. Does the LT1 have off-set mounts or anything? I sold the motor so I cant look on it.

I think the problem here is you dove in without any idea of what you were doing? The motor you are trying to put in is a MASSIVE step backwards. The bone stock LT1 heads outflow anything from the musclecar ear by a good margin, the reverse flow cooling allows substantial compression and the 95 pcm was about the cheapest easiest most flexible OEM computer ever used.
The 4L60E has a great first gear and coupled with a 9.5" converter is one mean combination on the track not just the street.

The motor mount issue has to do with the passenger side. The LT1 AC compressor used the front upper engine mount hole on the block so the LT1 had that mount flipped upside down and had one bolt on top and two on bottom the second one being back by the block drain hole more.

The LT1 crankshaft and rods were stronger than what is in a 78, the block is a roller cam block. The block is machined better with factory hypereutectic Mahle pistons with a nice ring package.

You REALLY should have made an effor to learn about the original drivetrain first.

Car in my sig is a true driver, mild enough the wife enjoys driving it and still gets 19-20mph yet at the track makes guys with lighter cars see tailights. Even have video of a sprayed LS1 Camaro losing too me.

ok. thanks.

All u said is very true. I would of left original drivetrain if I had a choice. But car wasnt mine 2 start with. I made a deal with a guy that if I pulled the motor and tranny for him then he would just give me the body. He wanted way too much for the whole package so I settled on body. Can't argue free.

Ya i did. I got it figured so thank you.

I do demo-scramble racing. If u have ever heard of it. Basically like a derby but u go over jumps and intersections with laps. Stretched out figure 8 track racing. Good Ol' Michigan Fun.:evillol:
