weird rattle sound HELP!!!

When i rev up my firebird there is a weird noise that come from the front of the car n its a weird rattle! My dad ses its a loose pooly. culd it b that or culd it mayb b part of the heat shield over the exhaust that is loose? Is it ok to take off the heat shield anyway if it is the cause?

As for your problem. My guess would be that it is your catalytic converter. The metal screens in there tend to degrade over time and cause rattles.

reach under the car and bang the cat converter. if it rattles it's knackered.

it'll sound like a tin can full of gravel when you rev it if it's broken.
