exhaust for v6 firebird

wut wuld be the best sounding exhaust system i culd get for my car?

Magnaflow, or Borla is you can spare the cash. Flowmaster and the majority of the rest will sound like a rice rocket. But you'll never sound like a V8, or even close to it. So I hope that's not what you're aiming for.

it would probably help the tone but that's a lot to pay for just sound. I don't recomend taking of the cat btw... that's a hefty fine

Nope.. I've already done all that to my 3.4. Sounds great at low RPM's but once you start approaching 3k+ it gets high pictched and raspy. It'll help with performance more than anything though.

a straightpipe will be fun for the first half hour, and unbearable for the rest of the time.

if you want a good sound, try magnaflow or borla. but make sure you got the cash for it, kinda expensive but not too expensive

so i take it the straight pipe is extremely loud

it sounds good. most of the time it sounds great. but it is ungodly loud, and that quickly becomes unbearable. not to mention it attacts police attention miles off.

if you've got a jack, some axle stands, tool and basic auto knowledge, get under the car and pull the exhaust. (down pipes back) then you can hear it. don't run it too long as the gases are very hot and they will burn stuff.

aite! im runnin through a flowmaster 80 series tho

I don't have mufflers but I am running a cat on my IROC. It has 2.5" pipe straight out the back. Its not too bad inside, but it is loud behind the car! I don't have too many tailgaters in the summer time either...:evillol:

I don't know about the 3.4 liter (if it would sound good or not) I have heard an S-10 4.3 with flowmasters only. If I didn't physically look under the hood, I would have swore it had a 350.

it won't be a straight pipe if you run a muffler.

a straight pipe means no muffler/cat/resonator/etc. it is literally a straight pipe from exhaust manifolds to the rear.

get a cat-less custom H-pipe, put on two bullet mufflers. & exit out the sides. the best way i ever heard a v6 f-body sound good... oh, & get some headers, too.
