On Febuary 12 2008 I bought a 2005 Nissan altima with 57000 some odd miles on it from Capital Mazda on Capital Expressway. It came with 20" wheels on it and I fell in love as soon as I parked it in my driveway . I bought it as-is out the door with no warranty (call me stupid I know).
The next day I drove to pick up a friend and when i picked him up he noticed that the front right wheel was low so I went to fill it up with air. I filled it up and noticed it was still leaking. It was leaking from the valve stem even with the valve stem cap on so I knew it had to go to the shop. I filled up the tire and drove it back to the dealer. It was late in the day and service was closed but they took it off my hands and said "Don't worry we'll take care of it".
Next day I call and they tell me they need to find someone to fix the tire. The service manager told me he would call me the next day. Next day I call and they give me the same answer with the phrase "Don't worry we'll take care of it".
So now its Friday and I decided to go down there and when I went down there I talked to the service manager again and he got on his walkie talkie and told some mechanics to take the wheels to Wheel Works to get them fixed! Why wasn't this done within the 2 days it was there :banghead:!? After that, they said they would find out what's wrong from wheel works.
Now they are saying that the wheel is bent and that it's my fault. When I drove the car to the dealer there was nothing wrong with the wheel (besides it being flat). Now I have to wait until Tuesday until they find someone to fix the wheel.
So my instincts are telling me that they are going to try and pin the damage on me. I'm guessing that they are going make me pay when I know that I only drove it like 20 miles max until things went wrong. I know I bought it with no warranty but they kept on saying "Don't worry we'll take care of it". If I knew it was going to take a week I would have gotten a "professional":evillol: to do it.
My question is this, what can I do to make them pay for all the wheel damage? because I know it wasn't me and I have a sneaking suspicion that it might have been their fault. Am I screwed or is there any way I can fight this absolutely infuriating car dealership?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thank you

If you bought it as-is, then legally I think you are screwed. With them stringing you along, I think you could do something about that part of it. No quote or time frame when you get the car back? All the places I've gone to had a paper you signed that says something like "call with quote" or "pre-approval of 'x' amount" ..something like that.

You might try calling your local office of the State Attorney General's office and explain the situation and see if you have any recourse.

Your posting in the right area and you have explained in excellent detail, when I viewed your question yesterday and noted the words AS IS, that becomes a hard question to answer as the seller dont have to help you " period " them stringing you along I dont understand, fix it or say no should have been the answer.
If you still unsatisfied with results as I write this post and want to get back at the dealership in a big way " let me know " and I will show you the way
PS...I looked up the dealers website and on a funny note you must get a laugh out of this line
