programming a keyless remote 99 venture

i just got this car and the battery was dead so i got new ones and it still don't work so i tried to reprogram(using the steps on here) it, but when i turn the key to acc and i get 4 chimes and when i turn off and back i get code/chime that's 1234 what dose this mean?:banghead:
