93-94 LT1 for Firebirds, Camaros, Corvettes $4449 *
http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=128&pid=108
94-95 LT1 for Caprice $4099 *

LS1 $5749
http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=120&pid=466
Tranny's I found...
Richmond 5 Speed $1779
http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=142&pid=30419
Richmond 6 Speed $2785
http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=142&pid=30418
Richmond 6 Speed F-Body $2925

Im sure with a bit more research you can find them for cheaper but this should give you at least an Idea. :)
* = I think these motors require that you have all the Fuel Injection stuff already, like Wiring Harness and Computer... that stuff. More of a 'replacement' motor than a crate motor unlike that LS1 I put up. It comes complete with everything you need... Just a thought. :)

Go with the T-56. Reasoning behind this is, the 5th gear on the t-5, and the 6th gear on the t-56 are the same size, the difference in the trannies is as foloows. The T-56 gears 1-5 are lower, and closer, so your revs are faster. The final drive ratio of the tranny might be different also, but not sure.
On the other hand, Im swapping out my t-5 for a t-56, if you want to buy it, I will sell it to you for a good price, make me an offer. This goes for anyone.

I was going to purchase over the weekend, a 1998 Firebird. But this is not just any firebird. This is the LS1/T-56/Aluminum Driveshaft billybadass. It got hit, and is still drivable. The guy only wants $4500.00 for the whole car. only like 80,000 miles on the thing. I was going to buy it and do a complet swap with my V-6, but well, I dont have enough to fork out the 5 grand to get it done. So I thought I would inform you of it, so if your ready to buy, send me an email. Oh and by the way, dont forget to hit my new website.
