Oil in antifreeze

Just bought a 2000 grand am. There is oil in the antifreeze coolant and i cannot find the source, any ideas of what it might be?

Welcome to AF.
Sounds like a lower intake or head gaskets leaking.
Not good!
Are you sure it's oil and not just Dex cool sludge ?

It could be sludge, unsure it looks like oil. This is the first car that i have ever had with dexcool. The only thing that doesn't work is the heater.

Heater could be a problem of the Dex sludge.
Probly could try a cooling system flush and some fresh coolant. Then see if any discolored coolant returns.
