engine wont start 90 crx

hi folks, i have a 90 crx, i havent driven this car lately and i only warm it up once a month and i when i had it for a road test and i remember i didnt add more water in the radiator until i noticed that the temp. went up and all of the sudden i see a check engine light came on and when i pulled over a lot of smoke coming out from muffler then i proceed to run for another more miles till i get back to my house then let it cool down for a while whle putting some more water in the radiator then:banghead: after 15 to 30 mins s tried to start it again it wouldnt start no more. do you think that could be blown head cylinder gasket or something to do about temperature thermostat. thanks for reading this post.

will it turn over ? if it does then remove all the plugs and do a compression test and look @ the engine oil if its gray your done and the head HAS to come off ok.
