Need Advice And Ideas

My 01 Altima runs fine it's just that there are certain electrical problems. The green display on the radio goes in and out and the lights on the heater are out. I've replaced all the fuses and still the same thing happens. Also, the cd player will not play cds, Any ideas of what might have caused this would be greatly appreciated

If its under warranty I would go take it to the dealer. Sounds like its the acutal deck that has gone bad, I doubt its fixable at home:(

Check alt. belt tightness and alternator.

Loose belt and a bad Alt would not give him that problem, I don't think. I think you have a fried unit, you can open it up yourself and see what lights are out and can try and replacing them yourself. I personally believe its a hassle, to dick around with all the special lil screw drivers that are needed.:2cents:

i appreciate all the ideas joe but could you specify what FRIED UNIT means what is the unit , forgive me but my mechanic knowledge is o. i just dont want to get ripped when i need to get it fixed.

Well, your actual stero (unit) seems to have a blown bulb (fried.) If it plays like its supposed to, then the major thing would be the labor for fixing it. Its time consuming yes, but they should not try and want to sell you a new one unless they explain to you exactly what is wrong.

ok, the lights in the radio and heater controls are out as well in my car, (it's a 93) i will be looking into them sometime next week.
as for the cd player not playing cd's if your out of warranty, forget about the factory nissan radio, buy an aftermarket one, you'll end up saving money and having a better stereo

as soon as i figure out that lighting issue, ill send a solid response to ya on what i find (im a mechanic btw)
