To good to be true?

Anyone tried these two products or heard anything about them, whether good or bad? It sounds fishy once you go through their quote process. They sent me a quote of $1,050.00 shipped to my door for the hydro assist fuel cell. They claim they are so busy that they can't take a debit or credit card. Only money orders or checks. I think that is because once you bolted this thing on and found out it sucks, you could dispute the charge with your credit card company. Your check has to clear the bank, then they ship and your hosed. Plus the founder Dennis Lynch? has a shady background appearently.

If you're even remotely considering either of those, you need a good smack upside your head.
If either of these so-called "technologies" were legit, you would have heard about it all over the news by now.

Did you see either of the videos about the two seperate systems? (PICC, and HAFC)

I originally saw their full page ad in a Newsweek magazine recently. Trust me, I'm not going to be the first dummy to shell out cash on this. I was hoping some other dummy had and could give feedback. See how I roll.

I'm thinking of the potential for a hindenburg disaster. Inject pure hydrogen into the intake? Personally, I think thats asking for trouble.

I couldn't help myself. More info on hydro fuel. Also, no one has ever looked into converting their Xterra to Flex Fuel? E85 is a $1.99 near my house. Regular is $3.05. Yeah, your fuel economy is less, but even fueling up again to get the same mileage as I would of got out of a tank of regular fuel, I'm still ahead money wise. I only use E85 in my 07 Flex Fuel Jeep and love it. Considering shelling out the $500 for the Flex Fuel conversion kit on the X.

YOU CANNOT CONVERT AN ENGINE TO RUN E85!!! Any kit that says otherwise is a total scam.

Seriously, it simply cannot be done without EXTENSIVE and EXPENSIVE modification.

That's just not entirely true Brent. We use a shop in Denver for our fleet of cars and the shop owner converted his new Scion to E85. It was a computer module for $500 from a company out of Thornton, Colorado. It's inline with the ECM. I drilled him yesterday and he made no engine modifications that you speak of. He's used it for almost 1 year making sure that no issues would arise before he rolls this out to his customer's. And if there were any, he would know how to adress them. What modifications do you think are needed? Almost every late model car on the highway have been running ethanol blends for years. Do you think diesel engines can run off used cooking oil? Well they can and do so very well for people that have put forth the effort. No serious engine mods were performed. You act like these engines need throughly overhauled and that's just not the case.

DO YOU WORK FOR THE OIL COMPANIES?

My understanding is that the fuel system needs to be updated to handle the high-ethanol blend, a sensor is needed to detect the ethanol/gasoline ratio, different injectors are needed, of course the ECU has to be updated, and a few other odds and ends.
