89 Supra non-turbo starting problem

My 89 supra non-turbo has trouble starting when cold after sitting more than about 10-12 hours. Turns over fine but will not start. After a few minutes it will shake and spudder like it is trying to run on half the cylinders then it dies and white smoke comes out from the air filter. Eventually it will start and run fine. I just started having this trouble during the cold winter weather. Occasionally after it starts it will hesitate on acceleration. This usually only lasts a few minutes.

If I were you I would check my mass air. Clean it with a good cleaner made for it, let it dry then see if it helped. If so you probably will be replacing it in future.
