If it's a Blazer, it's behind the driver's side rear wheel.

It's a 1997 Chevy Blazer 4.3 engine. I can't remember what the code was I was just told to check my gas cap which I did. Cleared the code and the check engine light didn't come back on for a few days. So I'm thinking its the evap canister. Thanks.

Was code cleared and rechecked?
Get the code no before throwing parts at it.
There is several parts to emission system.
Also check hoses and vacuum lines.
And no filling up with engine running and 3 clicks on the gas cap.
Give up the code no and we may be able to help.

Sorry if I put this in the wrong place guys. I'm new at this

My 1997 Blazer is acting up. I just rebuild the transmission as the rear clutches were shot and it was shuddering in reverse. I had the transmission pulled and rebuilt. Ever since it went back in the truck I get a check engine light and it won't go back to first gear sproradically. It starts off in second gear. if I start and restart the truck a few times it will eventually go back to normal shifting, then it acts up again after a bit. So far the mechanic has cleaned and sealed a plugin today that the tranny guy said make sure the mechanic uses a screwdriver to hold the plugin when he puts the cable to it or it will get pushed in the transmission. But to no avail. I'm lossed what to do at 40 bux a scan. Any help appreciated.

Welcome to AF.
You need to start a new Thread with your problem.
Look for and hit the New thread button and start a new post.
Give all info and tell us what codes they are getting.
Some body did not get your rebuilt job done right.
Was it a complete rebuild or just a quick repair?
Did you get a good warranty on it?
