Got one of my "new" seats in

Hi all...despite the soft ground, melting snow and mud everywhere, I installed one of my '91 Integra seats into the sedan yesterday.
After much thought and carrying the seats from the garage to the car and back again and trying to swap rails, etc.etc....I came to a pretty easy solution...

The two rear bolt holes line up almost perfectly... but the front wasn't even close...the Integra brackets for the front turn in towards each other...and the Civic's brackets go straight down. The front brackets are connected to my Civic rails with two "permanent" rivets...and the Integra brackets to the Integra rails with one rivet and a spot weld. Three drill bits later (shoulda used a drill press :(), I was able to remove the Civic brackets without damage while totally anililating the Integra brackets getting them off (haha..gotta love the grinder :greenchai ), but was careful not to damage the rails in the process.

After relocating the Civic brackets back about 3/4" from the "stock" location of the Integra brackets, and finding a short bolt/nut for each side to attach them to the Integra rails, they bolted in with just a little effort. Right now I only have one bolt in each bracket, and need to remove them to install the 2nd bolt/nut to make sure they are properly mounted.

Sorry, no pics yet...I got done about 8:00, and was too f-ing tired to pull out the camera when I got home. I spent most of the afternoon on the seats, but in between was helping the step-dad push a truck that hasn't moved in 5 years around his yard cuz he kept getting it stuck in the muddy snow and shit :(. If anyone is interested, I'll do a "upgraded seats in a sedan how-to" along with the pics when I have time to add those add'l bolts. I'll need to remove the seats and drill one more hole in the rails so it'll be a good time for that.

These seats were chosen because they have the shoulder belt/roll thingie already attached to the seat, just like my motorized seat belts in the sedan, and although from the same year, the 91 Integra seats were in much better condition than my 91 Civic seats...I don't think you hatchie guys have that seat belt issue to deal with....:(

So...I'll wait for the weather to improve to get the passenger seat in...the GF's seat is in good shape anyway...she doesn't need the beefed up bolsters and shit anyway - lol :D :flipa:

Sounds cool, I might have to get some 2g integra seats here soon also, cause I know they make em blue which would match my blue interior ... and yes, the auto seatbelt is always an issue.

My favorite Honda seats are the S2K seats but i also love the Del Sol seats, they hug you nicely.

yeah..i drove my dad's del slow to FL and back (I'm in MD) so the seats were nice..that was a long ass trip..I might do it in the Civic now with my new seats...the weather has cleared up so when I get home from work I'll try to snap some pics..

i didn't use a drill press either...I used a regular drill and went thru 3 bits cuz they got dull quick and broke...The grinder was a lucky thing my step-dad had in the basement... ;)...which is why all this work is done there cuz I live in a townhouse and they have stupid rules like "don't even open your hood unless the battery is dead in the parking lot", and "absolutely no car washing"

That shits gay, you pay to live there, if you have a hose and your own materials you should be allowed to wash your car for crying out loud, there is an apartment complex across the street, and they do shit like that, but I see people washing their cars all the time and the manager is never there so none of em ever get busted.

yeah dude..I agree...they are so anal about it here that they don't even have spigots out front...and there are rental/sales peeps walking around all the time and our TH is in the same building as the rental office :-\ - I agree that it is gay....fortunately for me, this is temporary housing that my GF and I are renting while I wait for the ex-wife to remove me from her mortgage (I gave her the house) and while we search for something to buy..The real estate market is pretty shitty this time of year over here...

Fortunately there is a self-serve car wash right around the corner...those bitches have been gettin' all my spare change lately

You could always do what my friend did, he bought a water key at the hardware store, and goes to the middle school at night to wash his car when there is nobody there, I drove up to say hi to him and he started putting all his shit away with a quickness, but then saw who it was and chilled :p

...what are you doing wasting your time with seats???? what's up with the zc?? :)

The seats are cluttering up the garage where the ZC is  I guess I have this whole vision that the ZC is a multi-weekend task....like multiple weekends as opposed to a weekend thing..I need a vehicle to drive during the swap cuz I know I won't get it done in one weekend.....It is coming...trust me...I'll get it done...i didn't put all that money into it to not use it and enjoy it...look at it this way..(here is my latest excuse :D) I need the extra support of the Integra seats...the crappy DX seats would break with all that ZC power - lol ;)

OK...here are some pics as promised....the weather finally cleared and we had sunshine today....damn..I almost feel like I live in Seattle :(

Mmm....check out that lumbar support ;)

Here is the details on the bracket rail issue.....the back rails bolted up just fine.. the issue was the front...I am not the diagram artist some of you are

here is the driver side view:

Ok...I think all the pics work now :)

LOL - thanks dude...the cupholder worked even better with my OBX short shifter...that shot is of my car in neutral  and currently with the B&M "Edge" short shifter. It is steel and most likely won't break (unlike my OBX aluminum one which did :() - but this one isn't bent back so it is too close to the dash...anything more than a 12oz. can and I have to be careful not to whack it.. :o

I might warm it up with a torch during the swap and gently work it back some..this new seat also doesn't sit up as straight as my old one, so I have to reach for the shifter more too - one more reason to bend that bitch back to the middle of the shifter hole :flipa:

Oh..and just for reference, the GF added the smellies...gotta have game and all ya know ;) kinda looks like a yellow canadian leaf, Eh? - lol :D

yeah..no kidding...the other issue right now is that the ground is too soft and I can't get any vehicle to the garage....excuses excuses :flipa: - the issues I face not having my own garage.
I am trying to buy a house with a garage in it...then I'll tell the GF that the garage is mine ;) and I am doing man stuff in it...no storage of junk...no parking of cars...just man stuff...engine swaps...power tools...wrenches...socket sets...etc.

yeah..I hear ya..I am still trying to get it done before the meet in April.

I am about to make some of my own room in the garage and start pulling that thing apart...seeing it in the garage all neglected, cold and unused makes me sad :( - I have the same issues you do with the work area Melt..right now it consists of Mom's front yard which is a 20 minute drive - lol

Oh and Melt, I like your tails..I noticed then in your siggy pic...we need a good full-on shot...did you just spray the outside of the lens until it turned red??
