low compresion on 1994 Range Rover

Hello, I have a 1994 RR with 3.9 engine V8 and I have just under 70k.
My compression is very low on all cylinders. What is wrong?
The mechanics don't have a clue. Some tell me to buy other engine.
Somebody with the same problem? The car is start and drive ok.
