Hey man I just did this on my 98 olds cutty and the programmer is in the trunk you have to search 4 it, took me 30min and thee phone calls to find mine, so it was located behind the liner on the passenger side behind the rear lights...you have to get at it like you was changing one of the bulbs. Once you pull the liner back, follow the wires mine was taped to them.
Once you fine it have to make a jumper wire with two alligator clips and a wire. Then connect the one end to the programmer and then the other to metal.
Then the car doors should lock and then unlock once or twice. It will do something to let you know its in programming mode. Then hold down the lock and unlock bottoms on the remote (up to 4 remotes can be programmed at this time). The car doors should lock and unlock letting you know that it has been programmed. Then just disconnect the programmer and make sure the remote work as it should.
