Hello, I was driving long distance the other day and noticed the Jimmy was running weird almost like it wanted to stall or something but it didn't. I looked at the RPM's and noticed it was only at 2000. I went from 80kph to 140 kph and it didn't move. In other words it tops out at 2000. It has 208 000 kms on it and our 8th letter in our vin is W. Would anybody have any idea why it is revving so low? Your input is greatly appreciated.

When you accelerate, can you hear the engine rev higher? If so, then only the tach readout is affected, leaning towards a failing sensor.
First thought is a bad crankshaft position or vehicle speed sensor.
Next thought is you might have a vacuum leak or problem with a vacuum-operated valve.
Do the symptoms happen when the engine is hot? Cold? Gets worse or better after warm? Is it difficult to start?
Keep the clues coming, we'll try to help.

Hello, no we couldn't hear the engine reving higher. It started like that when we started up the Jimmy and by the time we hit our destination 3 hours later nothing had improved and when we went to leave and drive 3 hours back about 4 hours later it was the same. I guess the good news is, is that it's not getting worse YET lol.
