Door Stuck

OK, first of all, I really hate truck thieves, especially the stupid ones.

Apparently someone tried to break into my 92 truck last evening and they succeeded only in screwing up the door. They never got in, they went for the locking rod under the door handle by pushing something under the handle. However, they only unhooked the handle rod, not the lock rod. They scratched the @#$% out of the paint right under the handle. Now, the inside handle won't open the door either. I can fix the rods but I can't get the dang door open now, both inside and outside handles don't work.

I need ideas, how do I get the @#$%^%# door open, HELP.....

See if you can get a pick in and grab the handle rod. You could also try a locksmith, it's amazing what they can get into. You could also break out the handle.

Found something better, a local body shop down the street from where I work did it for $30.00 (yes the decimal is in the right place). They told me the latch mechanism had become stuck, more than likely from old age with a little help from the thief pushing on it, and had somehow bound up the lock/unlock mechanism. They got into the door, reconnected the rods and lubricated the mechanism and everything is working OK now. I'll take care of the scratched up paint myself.
