any idea how to just pop off the top of it i just need to see if i can get what happened to the contacts in it before i decide to just rip out the whole entire thing or need an idea of where to maybe connect the cooling fans so they come on when i turn the car on. the problem in short......is if u lay ur hand over it and push down the fan can come on while car is off or on.

Thier's metal strips that run along the sides that are holding it in. Thier should be a clip that you push to release the box.
You'll probly hav to disconnect the hot wire+ so it will pull out, plus it wont come to far out from the firewall because of all the wires running to the pcm through the FW.
Its a real PITA !!
Even funner getting back in. :grinno:

I'd make sure that's the problem before commiting to this one.

positive its the problem. shouldnt have to push down the relay to make the cooling fan work. no the relay isnt bad tried to replace it back wouldnt work at all. im pretty sure the contacts in the fusebox are messed up.

also re-reading your post i got it out of the holder. just was wondering how to open the open or get the fusebox literally out of the engine bay without cutting it.

You cant!
I forgot you can pop the top of the fuse area out, you'll need to pull all the fuses and relays. :sorry:

Pretty sure it just snaps on, dont think thiers any screw/bolts holding that in place.

ps- corrosion in the fuse boxes is typical with these N bodies.
also make sure you inspect the wires to the corroded contacts for breaks-corrosion.
