Cel when coasting to a corner.

I was going down a highway at about 55mph and then began coasting and at about 25mph the Cel came on and began flashing all time until I turned the corner and began accelerating again. There were no strange noises or hesitation with the engine or anything out of the ordinary. After going a few more miles with the Cel on I coasted to my next corner and at about 25mph the Cel began flashing again and kept going until I turned the corner. Each time it would flash the entire time until I turned my corner. The second time I counted and it was about 30. What could be the problem? I would check the light and see but the nearest auto store that could help is 45 miles away and I don't have a code reader. Any thoughts on what it might be? Thanks. Non supercharged GM 3800 Series II V6. About 260,000 on the clock.

Lots of info here but the year? If after 95 it must be scanned for the code.

'96 OBD II. I'm thinking it's a vaccum leak or the EGR valve is stuck. Anyone know where exactly one is on an Olds Ninety-Eight '96? I don't have a chiltons. The valve.

Sounds like low oil pressure, or low oil level, could just be a bad sensor.

Probly will need to get it scanned. :2cents:

The Cel keeps going on and off. It's off now so I'm happy ha. I'll try and find the EGR valve first.
