95 Sunfire Parking Brake Light ..

Hey,

I have a 95 sunfire which I got about a year ago. Ive had to fix many things on it and have spent thousands :|
Now my parking/emergency brake light is on and has been that way for 3 weeks. Now I am not a car person and know not much about cars haha, but would anyone know why or if its really necessary/important that I take it in to get looked at? I'd rather not spend more money on something little but also dont want to be paying a tow bill either if it breaks down. Thanks :)

Is it just a red "BRAKE" light? If so, your brake fluid resevoir could be low. Check that first.

Yeh its the red light that comes on when you have your parking brake on. My parking brake works as well but when I put it down its still on, it never goes away. Yeh I checked brake fluid, its up as well. It happened when I turned a corner and it just turned on and has never shut off since...

Pull apart your center console. On your e-brake there is a connector that open and closes a circuit to make the brake light come on and off. Its a flimsy piece of metal. The connector could have come off or the metal tab broke off.
