Thanks to the people sharing their procedures and fixes in these 2 threads on this site I was able to unlock door and do a temporary fix with a paper clip and the old spring.

Question is: WHere can I get a replacement spring for the striker mechanism.
Like a fool I forgot to measure the spring. Do dealerships handle or do you have to buy the mechanism?

Any suggestion greatly appreciated

Found the spring at my local Ace Hardware Store for $0.90. The approimate dimensions are 1/4" wide by 3/4" long with closed loops.

Replaced my spring with same length as the one hanging there - 3/8 long. That may be why it still doesn't work. Only 3 days of climbing in from passenger side and it's old already.

My attempts to find used latch takes me to circles and dead ends. I had seen some when I first started, but have lost the links. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
